Logic1000 & Jam City – Jersey
One instruction in Logic 1000 on how to hear “Jersey”: full volume, ideally in a car. She and Jam City tested that theory personally in a hire car straight after the course, and according to her records it worked. Hearing the rationale is not difficult. Built around a driving groove and brilliant, beaming synths, the track veers toward the more maximalist end of her output than the more subdued work she has been known for.
“Jersey” is the second single from Confirmation!, out October 2 via Because Music, the follow-up to her 2024 debut Mother. Where that record documented becoming a parent, this one is framed around self-acceptance, the idea of feeling aligned with who you are while knowing you’ll keep changing. Musically it’s a wider palette too: trip-hop, big beat, ’80s synth-pop and leftfield electronica sit alongside her club-rooted sound, with features from Christine and the Queens, FAUZIA, yunè pinku, KUČKA and Tiffi M joining Jam City here.
Logic1000 has said the song makes her feel like she’s “in a power suit in the 80s”, and that’s about as much explanation as it needs: it’s uplifting because it wants to be, not because it’s building toward something bigger.
